[edit] Gameplay

All the attacks for this game are seen from a third person view, and uses different weapons, items and gadgets to defeat enemies. We are introduced to a new galaxy to explore known as the Bogon Galaxy in which the player has to complete main objectives and can chose to complete the optional side quests. Much like the previous Ratchet and Clank game, Bolts are this game currency, these can be obtained in various ways such as; defeating enemies and/or breaking creates that are scattered across each levels. With the Bolts that you collect, you can buy new, better weapons, or if the opportunity allows it, upgrade the weapons you already have. Not only that but you can buy ammo for your weapon and upgrade your armour. This game offers four types of "Maxi-Games" (Mini-Games) in which the player can participate in, and depending on their position or score can win Bolts accordingly. These areas include Hover Bike Racing, Spherical Worlds and Space Combat (Which involves skill in controlling your ship). Upon completion of the game, the player can then choose the Mode of the game and adjust the difficulty and then the player starts again but with the weapons and health they already had.

In total this game offers a variety of 18 weapons, such as the destructive Blitz Gun, the deadly Seeker and the Lava Gun. Each weapon is accompanied by their own "Growth Bar" which increases the weapons strength, once this bar is filled the weapon shall upgrade, thus doubling in power and changes the design of the attack. Original devices from the first Ratchet and Clank game also make another appearance in this game, such as the Swingshot, and others are new to Going Commando . A player can also used the saved file from the previous game to acquire "retro" weapons only obtainable in the original.

[edit] Plot

After defeating Drek in the previous game, both Ratchet and Clank have become heroes. After things had started to cool down, Ratchet and Clank were doing an interview when they are suddenly teleported to the Bogon Galaxy by an Abercrombie Fizzwidget, the founder of the CEO Corporation and produces manufactures for about every known product in the Bogon
The Protopet
Galaxy. He asks the two heroes if they can recover a stolen biological experiment. After which they are teleported to the Flying Laboratory on the planet Aranos, in search for the experiment. At the end of the level, the age is found. As Ratcher approaches the cage the thief reveals itself, and Ratchet then lies to try and cover up who he actually is. The thief escapes and flies away in a nearby ship and Ratchet then reports the incident back to Fizzwidget.

Ratchet is afterwards given coordinates and with the help of Clank, chased the thief through and around several planets, eventually catching up and confronting the thief on the planet Siberius, after which Ratchet beats the thief and obtains the Experiment, sending it back to Fizzwidget. Fizzwidget then accidentally releases Ratchet and Clank from their ship as the thief approaches and demands it back, unaware it has already been given back to CEO Corps. The mask of the thief accidentally comes off and reveals that it is in fact a girl names Angela Cross, and when Ratchet told her the experiment had already been handed back, she warned it will doom the entire galaxy.

On planet Dobo, The heroic duo find out that Angela's statement is in fact true as the Protopet turns into a dangerous predator. They try and pursue Fizzwidget in order to destroy the experiment, but instead come across a promotional poster announcing the Protopet is now being mass released. Later, on the Planet Boldan, Ratchet and Clank are captured by the "Thugs-4-Less" company that were hired by Fizzwidget, and are then thrown in prison. They soon escape and head to help rescue Angela, whom had been captured previously
The Giant (Mutant) Protopet
in the game. After Ratchet defeats the Thugs-4-Less leader of Planet Snivelak, they rescue Angela and head on out to destroy the Protopets.

As they arrive at their destination they realise that Captain Qwark (A disgraced hero from the Ratchet and Clank Game) has disguised himself as Professor Fizzwidget in order to destroy the Protopet, knowing of the dangers from the start and was originally planning on using the protopets as means of a comeback. He attempts to use the "Helix-o-Morph" (A device that will fix what's wrong with the Protopet), and zaps the original Protopet, but there is a complication and it all goes wrong, in which the "Helix-o-Morph" causes it to grow much larger. After a lng battle with the Protopet Ratchet defeats it and fixes the Helix-o-Morph. Angela then zaps the original protopet again but amplifies the ray with the Megacorps TV Transponders and fixes all the Protopets in the Galaxy. The real Fizzwidget appears and has been tied up, and put into a closet. At the end of the game Ratchet, Clank, Angela and the Infobot are all in Clanks apartment and find out that Qwark has unwillingly become a test subject for Megacorps new device, The **"Crotchitizer".
