Ace Hardlight is the leader of the Exterminator team of DreadZone, and sits atop the DreadZone point rankings. He was once a hero of DreadZone, but his thirst for the destruction of others turned him evil. This probably contributed to the fact that the fans hate him and will not buy his merchandise. He is the last Exterminator that Ratchet faces.
Big Al is technology specialist who upgrades Ratchet's bots from a special Robo Shack in Ratchet's DreadZone quarters. Occasionally in the game he will tell you to stop by and upgrade your bots.
Captain Starshield is the current hero of DreadZone when Ratchet arrives. He is high up in the DreadZone point rankings, but can he survive the continuous duals with the Exterminators?
Clank is back as the witty robot sidekick of Ratchet, but his role has changed (to the great disbelief of gamers everywhere). He will no longer be alongside Ratchet as he fights, meaning no Clank parts of the game, which include guiding little robots with commands, pushing around monkeys with banana guns, or Giant Clank battles. Now he will be providing help and information to Ratchet from the sidelines, while trying to figure out a way to escape the deadlocked collar and DreadZone.
Courtney Gears is recovering after she was nearly killed last year by Ratchet and Clank. Her career hit an apparent low point last year after spurious allegations that she was conspiring with Dr. Nefarious to destroy all organic life in the galaxy. It was bad enough that she was left in a smoldering pile of scrap, but then her record label had the nerve to dump her and replace her with Skidd McMarxx! Oh, the horror! Sure, Skidd's latest album of spoken word poetry is profoundly moving, but he just doesn't appeal to the all-important teenage robot demographic.
Mr. Vox personally oversaw the careful reconstruction and rehabilitation of Ms. Gears by his own team of specialist robotic surgeons. In exchange, Mr. Vox has merely asked that Courtney Gears sign over all past and future rights to her music, her image, her name, her likeness, and her personal collection of Secret Agent Clank memorabilia.
Dallas and Juanita are the spunky announcers of DreadZone. You will hear them very often, and they give frequent news reports throughout the game, often bad-mouthing Ratchet.
Gleeman Vox is the evil villain who captures Ratchet and Clank and forces Ratchet to compete in his twisted fighting reality show. Soon he realizes that Ratchet is the best fighter that the show has ever seen, so he fits him with a "deadlock" collar which will explode is he tries to escape or if the shows ratings begin to slip. To keep Ratchet on his toes, periodically he will send any of his 4 Exterminators to eliminate Ratchet.
The warrior lombax is back for another chance in the spotlight. Captured by Gleeman Vox while trying to find some missing heros, Ratchet is forced to compete in Gleeman's reality fighting show DreadZone. He is accompanied by two fighting robots and fitted with a deadlocked collar, which makes it so he cannot escape and it will explode if he tries (or the shows ratings begin to drop). He will once again wield weapons and gadgets as he fights for his life.
Reactor is one of the four Exterminators of DreadZone, and its the second Exterminator Ratchet faces. He is the confident robot that worries more about giving the fans a good show than of Ratchet.
Shellshock is one of the Exterminators of Dreadzone. He is the large green destuctive robot seen often smoking a cigar, and is the first Exterminator you face in DreadZone.
